| Long County Sheriff's Office is normally staffed by Sheriff's Secretary, Frontdesk Clerk, DeputySheriff. Two Deputy Sheriffs patrol Long County, 24 hours - 7 Days a week, Currently all Deputies serve civil papers and summons. Other tasks and duties that the deputies and staff perform day-to-day are:-Respond to Domestic Violence calls-Fingerprinting for employment/schools/gun permits-Criminal Background Checks-Serve Civil Process and Summons -Courthouse and Courtroom Security-Patrol School zones and follow School Buses-Respond to Complaint calls-Check suspicious vehicles and persons-Traffic control / Patrol streets and highways-Transport Inmates to and from Court-Transport Mental Patients-Sex Offender Registration-Vehicle Inspections |
