Long County Sheriff's Office is normally staffed by Sheriff's Secretary, Frontdesk Clerk, DeputySheriff.  Two Deputy Sheriffs patrol Long County, 24 hours - 7 Days a week,  Currently all Deputies serve civil papers and summons.  Other tasks and duties that the deputies and staff perform day-to-day are:
-Respond to Domestic Violence calls
-Fingerprinting for employment/schools/gun permits
-Criminal Background Checks
-Serve Civil Process and Summons 
-Courthouse and Courtroom Security
-Patrol School zones and follow School Buses
-Respond to Complaint calls
-Check suspicious vehicles and persons
-Traffic control / Patrol streets and highways
-Transport Inmates to and from Court
-Transport Mental Patients
-Sex Offender Registration
-Vehicle Inspections
